The Hub Power Plant in Pakistan is a priority project of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor, with a total expected investment of $1.995 billion. It is developed and constructed by China International Engineering Consulting Corporation (CIECC) and Hub Power Company Limited, a subsidiary of National Power Investment Corporation (NPIC). The project includes the construction of a power plant and a dedicated coal terminal, with a planned total installed capacity of 1,320 megawatts. Once completed and operational, the project will supply 9 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, meeting the electricity needs of 4 million Pakistani households. During operation and storage, the coal yard generates dust on windy days, leading to environmental pollution and material loss. To address this issue, the project employs wind control and dust suppression technology—windbreak dust suppression walls. These walls are designed using a “modular” approach, with factory processing and on-site assembly using bolt connections, significantly reducing construction time and transportation costs.
