Qingdao Port Ore Yard Dust Pollution Control

The dust pollution control project at the ore yard of Qingdao Port began in 2007. It involved the construction of wind-blocking and dust-controlling walls to reduce the kinetic energy and velocity of incoming winds, thereby mitigating dust pollution. These wind-blocking and dust-controlling walls have a height of 20 meters, and the total length of all walls in the various material yards amounts to 16 kilometers. After completion, the project achieved significant dust suppression effects, with a dust suppression rate of 86%, effectively addressing the previously severe dust pollution. The project passed the acceptance inspection conducted by the environmental protection department. On June 21, 2008, the project was reported on the news broadcast of China Central Television (CCTV).
