Jingzhang Railway Sound Barrier Project

The Jingzhang High-Speed Railway, also known as the Jingzhang Passenger Dedicated Line or the Beijing-Baotou Passenger Dedicated Line (Jingzhang section), is an intercity high-speed railway connecting Beijing and Zhangjiakou in Hebei Province. It is a crucial part of the “Beijing-Lanzhou Corridor” and the “Beijing-Kunming Corridor” in the “Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal” high-speed railway network outlined in the “Mid-to-Long-Term Railway Network Plan” (2016 edition). It serves as a significant transportation facility for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. This intelligent high-speed railway, designed with the BeiDou Satellite Navigation System, has a speed of 350 km/h and is capable of operating in extremely cold conditions and high winds.

The Jingzhang High-Speed Railway officially commenced operations on December 30, 2019. The main line runs from Beijing North Station to Zhangjiakou Station, covering a length of 174 kilometers and including 10 stations. It branches out from Xiahuayuan North Station to the Chongli Railway leading to Taizicheng Station and has an extension to Yanqing Station.

From April to November 2019, our company undertook the construction of a 3.2-kilometer sound barrier for the Jingzhang High-Speed Railway. Upon completion, the sound barrier helped the previously noise-exceeding sensitive areas along the railway, such as nursing homes, schools, and residential areas, to meet the railway noise emission standards, thus improving the environmental quality of these sensitive areas along the railway.
